| Green Green Grass
Is there a time and a place
in your past
where your memory fears to tread?
When you’re there you despair,
you feel so cold, so strange
you have tried to forgive but
your clenched fist refuses to let go,
this place in your past did not
begin as a frozen wilderness,
it was once green and lush
but time has frozen still,
at that day, at that year
which changed your life.
The only way to melt the ice
is to forgive and forget,
day by day, year by year,
until you can once again see
nothing but green, green grass.
