I drew back my curtains
to witness a pleasant morning,
the weather appeared to be
nice and bright,
fooling me to lower my guard
dressing light,
forgetting that the weather
can be deceptively freezing,
at my most vulnerable
it started raining,
the next day I woke up
to see another pleasant morning.
It did not fool me.
